She is filled with wild passion… Jessamyn Lovell, the “Gypsy Violinist,” is the newest musical sensation among the ton, but she and her sister are caught in the grip of an unscrupulous uncle, who uses her performances as a cover for his crimes.
He has scoured the recklessness from his soul… The Earl of Silverton, Morgan Trevethwick, has spent ten years restoring his family’s reputation in the wake of scandal–and it has taken every ounce of his self control.
Together, they will be one another’s ruin… When danger looms, Jessa risks everything to seek Morgan’s help. He cannot refuse a woman in distress, though she threatens to overturn the future he has worked so hard to secure. Even worse, she relights a fire in his heart–one he had thought extinguished forever.

I’m thrilled to announce that Sonata for a Scoundrel is a 2014 RITA nominee for Best Historical Romance. This is the most prestigious romance award out there, and this is the first year they were open to self-published books. It’s very exciting that my indie title has been selected as a finalist.
The awards ceremony is a very glitzy, Oscar-style event held at the RWA National Conference – this year on Saturday, July 26 in San Antonio, TX. I’ll be there – but I have to get a fancy dress, first!
In other news, Sonata is also the 5th place winner in Historical Romance for the Write Touch Reader’s Award.

As the nights deepen toward winter, a particular type of seasonal story starts hitting shelves – the Christmas romance. I have a story in a new anthology titled Christmas Ghosts, that’s part of the Fiction River series. My Regency-set tale in the collection was called a “standout” by Publisher’s Weekly, but, truly, every story in the anthology is wonderful.
It’s not too early to grab a copy (available in both e-book and print at all retailers and some bookstores), cuddle up with a cup of hot chocolate, and dive into some terrific tales of the holiday season~
“A sugary Christmas treat for those who love romance.” —Publisher’s Weekly
“The beloved Victorian Christmas ghost storytelling tradition continues to thrive in modern day, and this multi-genre anthology of short stories is proof. Cuddle up next to a crackling fire with some holiday music playing softly in the background, and lose yourself in eight amazing Christmas stories by a gang of super-talented, cross-genre authors. Not only are they heartwarming, but they incorporate mystery, science fiction, romance and ghosts! A few tend to be more animated than others, but each one is special, and guaranteed to jingle someone’s bells.” —RT Book Reviews
“In this latest volume of an anthology series from WMG’s Fiction River imprint, best-selling authors (Mary Jo Putney and Carole Nelson Douglas) and rising stars (M.L. Buchman, Anthea Lawson, and others) present a wide selection of romantic stories, from Regency to romantic suspense to paranormal, all set during the Christmas season and featuring some form of a ghost. VERDICT: This title offers eight original love stories that will give romance readers several satisfying happy endings.” —Library Journal
